Calculates the polar cuts (polar distances) of the current
set for the given polar levels (angles).

At the moment only the reference points of type 'corecentre' and
'corecentreprojection' are supported. In the case of a triangle shaped
set the abscissa of the reference point of the triangle should coincide
with the abscissa of its second characteristic point.
